Constable caught red-handed taking bribe by anti-corruption wing

Agra: A GRP constable was arrested by anti-corruption wing, after he was caught red-handed for taking bribe of Rs 40,000 from a railway vendor.Identified as Alok Gautam, the constable was posted at Tundla station. Further, a departmental inquiry has been set up in the case, if more men are found involved in alleged bribery, then respective cops would be suspended as well." If refused, the cops would threaten vendors with fake FIR to halt their business. He was charged under the prevention of corruption act.A trap was set up by the team of ACW lead by inspector Rajeev Yadav against constable Gautam after several railway vendors of food stalls lodged complaints against him and station house officer Rajkamal Singh.“The railway vendors had alleged that constable Gautam on the behest of inspector Rajkamal Singh, was extorting Rs 1 lakh per month as bribe from Tundla railway station food stall vendors.
