Six policemen injured in accidental gunfire by colleague

Satyendra had been transferred to Kotwali police station from Bewar and had gone to the armoury to get his service pistol issued.” Agra: Six policemen in Mainpuri were injured when their colleague accidentally pressed the trigger of his service pistol after it was issued to him from the armoury on Wednesday morning.According to police officers, the incident occurred around 10:30 am when sub inspector Satyendra Pal Singh was checking the 9mm pistol issued to him. Action will be taken on the basis of the inquiry report. Mainpuri superintendent of police Ajay Shankar Rai said, “All six policemen had minor injuries, but SSI Bhadauria, who was injured under an eye, has been asked to get further checkups done as a precautionary measure.”Additional superintendent of police O P Singh said, “A preliminary inquiry has been marked against Satyendra Pal Singh. The handgun accidentally fired and the bullet hit the floor and ricocheted to the wall before breaking into splinters and hitting the sixpolicemen.The injured policemen were identified as senior sub inspector (SSI) RK Singh Bhadauria, constables Shyam Veer Singh and Ram Naresh, lady constable Suman and home guards Anil Kishore Yadav and Dhirendra Singh.They were immediately rushed to the Mainpuri district hospital, from where they were discharged after treatment..
