Agra: Agra Municipal Corporation ( AMC ) has become the first civic body in the state to implement zonal commissionerate system. Following this, four senior officers were assigned the responsibility of zonal commissioners.The mayor told TOI, “AMC will be the first civic body in UP to implement zonal commissionerate system. From now on, city residents will not have to make rounds of the civic body’s main office to get their problems resolved. Each of the four zonal commissioners will be responsible for all matters in their area regarding maintenance of sanitation and hygiene, recovery of taxes and matters related to it, street lighting, maintenance of vehicles, parks, action against encroachments, etc.”Joint municipal commissioner Vinod Kumar Gupta has been made zonal commissioner for Chatta, assistant municipal commissioner Anupam Shukla will look after Hariparwat zone, chief engineer (civil) Tarun Sharma will be zonal commissioner for Lohamandi ward, chief engineer (electricity and mechanics) Sanjay Katiyar for Tajganj zone.
