Four Kanpur residents killed in road accident on Yamuna Expressway

Another accident occurred at around 4:20 pm on the expressway between milestones 115 and 116 under Mahavan police jurisdiction. In the second accident, one person was killed and six were injured.A recent RTI reply by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) claimed that speeding was a major contributor to accidents on the expressway. Out of 4,956 accidents between August 16, 2012 and March 31, 2018, a total of 1,161 accidents were caused by speeding. In the accident, a woman and a four-year-old boy were killed and three persons were injured.On July 1, four persons including two women and a six-year-old girl were killed in two separate accidents on the expressway in Mathura district. The first accident was reported at around 1:30 am, when an SUV carrying five women, five children and a man turned turtle after hitting the divider near milestone 83 under Surir police jurisdiction..
