District magistrate orders probe into overcharging at Common Service Centres

AGRA: A probe has been ordered by the district administration into complaints of overcharging by private operators at Common Service Centres (CSC) in the city. According to official sources, complaints have been made about these e-governance centres charging nearly 10 times more to process various government schemes and public utility services such as caste and income certificates. Centres are also not operating at their specified places and documentation of applicants is not being done. Up to Rs 250 is being charged for processing Aadhaar cards when government rules state that CSCs cannot charge more than Rs 25 for any service.
