Summary:

Agra: With just two days to go before registrations for admissions close at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University, only 80,000 students have registered so far this year, compared to 2,13,336 registrations last year. University public relations officer GS Sharma said, “The number of registrations will increase. The more than 60% drop in registrations can be attributed to the bad name the university has earned, thanks to its allegedly poor academic standards, delay in declaring results, errors in marksheets, widespread malpractices, etc. Earlier, students would turn up at the university only for exams, so they could obtain a degree. Despite efforts of the officials, a majority of seats remained vacant in agriculture and law courses..
