BSAs directed to ensure teacher-student ratio in primary schools

Agra: Given the skewed teacher–student ratio at many government primary schools , state government has issued directions to the basic education department to ensure that set norms be followed. Standard teacher-student ratio will be ensured at all schools.”According to basic education department records, a majority of schools with no permanent teachers are in Fatehabad, Jaitpur Kalan, Kheragarh, Jagner, Bah, Pinahat, Sainya, Baroli Ahir, Akola, Fatehpur Sikri, Etmadpur, Shamshabad and Khandoli blocks. After this, adjustment of teachers will be done.Earlier this month, TOI had reported that about 241 schools in Agra district had no permanent teacher on duty. That is why schools in rural areas were being run by shiksha mitras (contractual teachers). We will ensure the orders are suitably implemented..
