Aligarh police books man for burning Tricolour on Independence-Day

AGRA: The Aligarh police has booked a 32-year-old man for allegedly burning the Tricolour made of paper on Wednesday. The accused, Sattan Singh, who is currently absconding, has been booked under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act According to police, Sattan Singh was burning the flag with a matchstick when someone spotted him and tried to stop him. However, he managed to escape from the spot after assaulting the person.The incident took place in Chandaukha village under Janwa police station during the day. “A case has been registered under relevant sections on the basis of the complaint filed by one Kaushal Kumar, a resident of the neighbouring Pala village,” Janwa police station SHO Udit Kumar said, adding that the accused will be arrested soon.The SHO further said that preliminary investigation revealed that Singh is mentally disturbed and usually gets into fights with others over trivial issues..
