Summary:

Agra: In a controversial order, the teachers of Women’s College at the Aligarh Muslim University ( AMU ) have been asked to sign a ‘movement register’ if they leave their department during official work time. I won’t able to respond unless I know about that person’s whereabouts.”Khatoon said the aim of the register is to keep a track on the teachers once they enter the college. They will have to record their exit from their department and have to state the reason for the same. However, the order has not gone down well with the teachers. However, she did not explain as to why this was not enforced earlier. She further said that all teachers should be present in the college as AMU vice-chancellor Tariq Mansoor often takes rounds and doesn’t appreciate if teachers are missing from the department.“What if during a surprise check he asks about a particular teacher. “By doing such things they are trying to change the terms of our employment,” he said.Principal Khatoon has said there was nothing new with the order and their directions were merely a reiteration of existing rules..
