Agra: The Aligarh administration’s decision to perform puja of toilets built under Swachh Bharat Mission on the first day of Navratri on October 10 has sparked a controversy.Members of Hindu Mahasabha have given a memorandum to the district authorities to withdraw the decision immediately. “The CM and PM have given recognition to toilets as ‘izzatghar’. The decision of performing puja on the first day of Navratri hurts the sentiments of Hindus,” said Hari Shankar Sharma, city president of the Mahasabha.Talking to the media, organisation’s spokesperson Ashok Kumar Pandey said that they are opposing the initiative because of its “anti-Hindu sentiments”.
