Nirmohi Akhara calls for nationwide stir over ‘arrest’ of seer fasting for Ram temple

Agra: Nirmohi Akhara , one of the main litigants in Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit, has threatened nationwide stir over “arrest” of a prominent Hindu seer who was on an indefinite fast to press for early construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.Mahant Paramhans Das, the chief priest of Tapaswi Chhawni temple in Ayodhya, was detained by police on Sunday night. On late Sunday night, Faizabad police picked him from his temple in Ayodhya. Das has also announced a schedule for the construction of the temple in Ayodhya.Uttar Pradesh government representatives held several rounds of talks with Mahant Das, but failed to persuade him to break the fast. According to Faizabad police, the seer’s condition was deteriorating and he needed to be hospitalised..
