Etah police seizes Rs 8 lakh worth IMFL, 70 litres of hooch, 3 nabbed

Agra: In two different operations against liquor mafia, Etah police seized Rs 8 lakh worth of indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and 70 litres of hooch. Three persons, two in the first raid and one in the second, were nabbed.The first haul was recovered by Pilua police in a joint operation with SWAT team. During interrogation, the two accused drivers smuggling the liquor in the district claimed that they were supposed to deliver the consignment to a man identified as Dharmendar of Firozabad district. The liquor had been smuggled from Haryana.” The two apprehended accused were identified as Ajay Singh and Ravi, who hailed from Hapur district.In the second operation, according to police, four men managed to flee, but one, identified as Awadesh of Kurwali, Mainpuri district, was arrested with the hooch. The second was conducted by Jaithra police, where the hooch was recovered from the jungle of Kasturpur.According to station house officer (SHO) of Pilua, Maharaj Singh Bhatti, “After an anonymous input, two SUVs were waylaid near Bhadwaas border, from which 171 and 40 cartons of whisky manufactured in Arunachal Prasdesh was recovered..
