Leopard hit by unknown vehicle near Agra fort

AGRA: A male leopard was seriously injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Agra fort early Tuesday.Deputy Conservator Forest, Chambal Safari, Anand Kumar told TOI that the wild cat suffered traumatic injuries and has been moved to Wildlife rescue centre inside Soor Sarovar Bird Sanctuary for treatment. Now the leopard is under observation”.Explaining the wild cat’s condition, Dr Baiju told TOI that he is not able to stand on his own. We informed the forest department, who after two hour long rescue operation took the animal for treatment”. In fact, he has not even urinated or defecated since 3 am, which is alarming. He said, “the exact situation will be known only after conducting diagnostic tests including X-ray and that could be possible only after 8-9 hours, after we dart him again”.At present, the leopard aged between 5-7 years is in the cage at rescue centre..
