Early morning drizzle brings down temperature not pollution in Agra neighbouring districts

AGRA: An early morning drizzle on Wednesday took residents of Agra and those of neighbouring districts by surprise, forcing them to get their sweaters and raincoats out at once. The light rain brought it down by around two notches.According to the Indian meteorological department, Agra reported 1.6 mm rainfall, Kasganj 2 mm, Aligarh 0.5 mm and Firozabad 0.6 mm, causing the mercury to drop. Saharanpur district of West UP region reported 0.7 mm rainfall. While the minimum temperature dropped to nine degree celcius, there was little respite from pollution, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) stayed in the “very poor” category, with PM 2.5 (particulate matter) level at 364.The minimum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 11.1 degree celcius.
