Uttar Pradesh government to regularize illegal power connections

AGRA: Following orders from the state government, the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited ( UPPCL ) has devised a special scheme to support financially weak power consumers of rural and slum areas using katia ( illegal power connection). People like jhuggi dwellers, who don’t have a permanent address, will have to pay for a legal power connection.” The scheme, called “Katia Hatao, Saiyojan Pao”, will be run across the state till January 31.To avail the scheme, those using illegal connections have to declare themselves before January 31.
