In November last, an NRI woman tourist from South Africa was allegedly gang-raped by a guide and his friend. Even before police could arrest the accused, one of them attempted suicide and died in the hospital during the treatment.Another incident took place under the jurisdiction of Farah police station in Mathura in September 2018, when a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her cousin brother when she was alone in her house. However, he has not been arrested so far.According to police, the incident took place around 9 am when the girl had gone to a nearby field, about 200 metres from her house, when the accused allegedly accosted and raped her.In June 2018, a minor girl was allegedly abducted from her house and gang-raped by four people in Mathura.
