Jal Nigam yet to provide water connection to 6,000 Agra residents

AGRA: The Jal Nigam has failed to provide the targeted number of water connections under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme in Agra district . The state government had tasked Jal Nigam to provide around 27, 263 domestic water supply pipeline connections under the central government scheme till December 31, 2018. Jal Nigam officials say the remaining 6000 will be arranged within first half of the next month.Under the AMRUT scheme, 27, 263 houses were identified in different parts of the city to be connected to the main water supply pipeline. The state government had released Rs 11 crore for the purpose and the work was targeted to be completed by December 31.
