Summary:

AGRA: A day after UP CM Yogi Adityanath targeted the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for not giving quota in admission to SC/ST students, BJP Youth wing wrote a letter to Vice Chancellor on Thursday to provide a land for the construction of “temple” inside the campus to enforce its secular character.Talking to media, Lodhi said that this was earlier demanded by students in AMU, but VC has not done anything and apparently taken it lightly. He said, “If the construction of temple is not completed in 15 days, we would do so by February 24”.In a letter to the Vice Chancellor of the varsity, President of BJP Youth wing, Mukesh Singh Lodhi, said that Hindu community students have to face problems in performing puja due to non availability of temple inside the campus.“Considering the sentiments of Hindu community students and Prime Minister’s mantra of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ (Collective efforts, inclusive growth), you should approve the proposal for land for the construction of the temple,” said Lodhi, adding that this will set an example for Hindu-Muslim unity.Earlier, in December last year, Ajay Singh, a LLM student at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and grandson of Aligarh BJP MLA Dalveer Singh, had demanded construction of a Saraswati temple inside the university campus..
