Hooch tragedy Eight districts in Agra zone raided two held

AGRA: Following the Saharanpur hooch tragedy , where 64 people have died, eight districts of Agra zone police conducted multiple raids in Agra, Aligarh, Etah, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Mathura, Hathras and Kasganj. There was special focus on Etah, Kasganj and Firozabad, as in July 2016, 44 men had died after consuming country-made liquor in Etah district.According to Etah police, two men were arrested with 500 litre of raw material used in making hooch, along with 50 litre of country-made liquor from Kanjar colony of Aliganj police jurisdiction.In Agra district, police arrested a man with 20 litres of hooch from Nagla Surajbhan village of Shamshabad.Raids were also conducted in Nagar Kotwali and Jaitra police jurisdictions, where the excise department and police destroyed several hundred litres of hooch and the raw material used to make it.In its neighbouring district Kasganj, a man was arrested with 50 litre hooch and 200 litres of raw material from Nagla Dhimar village of Sidhpura police jurisdiction.In Firozabad district, Shikohabad police arrested two men with 20 litre of hooch from Gihar colony..
