Pipeline damage causes water shortage in dozen localities

Agra: Around a dozen localities in the city faced water scarcity on Tuesday after a major supply pipeline near Panchkuiyan crossing was damaged and sprung a leak. Water tankers have not been supplied to the residential areas.”When contacted, general manager, Jal Sansthan, RS Yadav said, “The water supply in about one-fourth of the city has been affected due to damage of supply pipeline. At present, the work is taking place at Panchkuiyan crossing.According to locals, on Sunday, an excavator used for digging struck the eight- inch radius water supply pipeline. As an alternative arrangement, water tankers will be supplied in the affected areas.”.
