Five member gang of thieves arrested in Firozabad

Summary:

The gang has burgled two liquor shops in the district in span of 15 days.

Two pistols, a car and excess amount of looted foreign alcohol were recovered from the accused.

The Special Operation Group of Firozabad district arrested five-member gang of liquor thieves on Sunday night in a raid in Sirsaganj.

The gang is accused of burgling two liquor shops in the district over a span of 15 days.

The five men arrested include gang leader Bhura, Ranjit Kumar, alias Vinay, Tinku Fakeer, Zubair Ali and Shiv Kumar.

As per the police two country made pistol, a car, 15 cartoons of beer and nine of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) which the accused had stolen from the shop under Tundla and Narkhi police station was recovered from them.

  

According to police the men are school and college dropouts from lower-middle class families in the age group of 20-25.

They used to illegally sell stolen alcohol across the district at low MRP.

In a statement by additional superintend Rajesh Kumar ‘’this was a new gang, thefts at liquor shops are quite unusual, they found them easy target.

After breaking into liquor shops the gang used to run away with packed cartoons in their car and sell them in the market.
