BJP district chief Mainpuri among seven booked for fraud

AGRA: Mainpuri district police has registered cases of cheating, forgery and attempt to murder against the local BJP president, Alok Gupta , and six others following court orders.The orders for registering the criminal cases against the district BJP president and others were issued by local court, on a complaint filed by one Ramkishori Shakya , of village Aurangabad, alleging that the suspects had defrauded her family by fraudulently removing her father, Chaturi Singh's name from the revenue records. The suspects had even threatened to kill her, if she continued to pursue the matter against them, she alleged.Ramkishori was reportedly forced to file a criminal writ petition in the court for registration of an FIR against the accused, as the police had paid no heed to her complaints.When contacted, SP Mainpuri, Rajesh Singh , told TOI that cases against Alok Gupta and others had been registered under various sections of IPC and the matter was being investigated.Station Officer of Barnahal, Sunil Kumar Yadav said cases have been registered against the seven suspects under IPC sections 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will etc), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt), 307 (attempt to murder), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 ( criminal intimidation).Alok Gupta was not available for comments, as his phone was switched off..
