We are ready to install HSRP in the cops’ vehicles at RTO Ahmedabad or police headquarters — whichever is convenient to them. City police has about 1,500 vehicles but the HSRP is yet to be installed on more than 700 vehicles including both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. The March 31 deadline to get vehicles fixed with High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) is nearing but the Ahmedabad Police has been lethargic in getting it done. In case of the police, we have not received any request from them to fit HSRP on old vehicles. Looking at a large number of vehicles yet to complete the process, the state government is likely to extend the HSRP installation deadline once again..
