International Convention on inclusive education concludes with discussion on sensory integration

Summary:

The last day of the International Convention on Inclusive Education held in the city, on Wednesday, witnessed discussions on simple decoding and vocabulary techniques, sensory dysfunction, multisyllabic words, etc. The three-day convention covered topics such as need and importance of inclusive education, paradigm shift in inclusive schooling, learning disabilities and its impact on children. The convention was attended by over 150 delegates including foreign dignitaries, principals and counsellors of DPS schools across the western zone. There was also a session on unlocking multisyllabic words for struggling readers through simple decoding and vocabulary techniques by Radha Tandon, head of PRAANGAN, Centre for Children with Special Educational Needs. Atanu Rath, principal, DPS, Gandhinagar, added "This conference was aimed at providing a platform to educationists to re-define and re-design curriculum.".
