Gujarat's desert ratio is 3rd highest in India

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat has the third highest area under desertification in the country. The same in the last eight years increased by nearly 1.85 lakh hectare of 0.94% of the total geographical area. Around 52% of the total geographical area of 1.96 crore hectares in the state is under desertification. Of the 1.85 lakh hectare land, there has been water erosion of 71,398 hectare of land.
