SURAT: The Central Government has issued a gazette notification designating Surat airport as an authorised immigration check post In the gazette notification by Ministry of Home Affairs published on June 12, the Central Government has designated Surat airport as an authorised immigration check post for entry into and exit from India with valid travel documents for all classes of passengers.The Central Government has appointed Commissioner of police, Surat as the civil authority for the purpose of the immigration check post located at the airport with effect from June 1, 2018.The airport authorities expect that the immigration services are likely to begin in the next couple of months. Already, training has been given to 35 personnel from the Surat police to facilitate the customs check at airport. The officials also said that the customs check will also be available soon..
