Gujarat University suspends three students for ragging Dalit at HL College

The Gujarat University has suspended three students of HL College of Commerce involved in the ragging incident in which a Dalit student had tried to commit suicide. The varsity has further suspended the enrollment as well as the right of the students to appear for any exam of the varsity. The varsity in a release said that the Anti Ragging Committee of the college has submitted its report in connection with the incident and the varsity has decided to suspend the three. Mahida had alleged that the three students hit him, abused him using casteist language and at one point of time even pulled down his pants. The education department had ordered an inquiry into the matter after the incident came to light..
