To encourage Indian authors to pen new technical books, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all engineering colleges and universities to refer to the books by Indian authors. The AICTE expert committee has prepared a list of books by Indian authors and publishers as per the model curriculum. The books should be referred to by the faculty and students of the universities and colleges. In a circular, the chairman All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has informed that the AICTE has prepared the model curriculum of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and technology.
