AHMEDABAD: Gujarat high court on Friday issued notice to the Bar Council of India and the Bar Council of Gujarat over requirement of framing of rules on how advocates should represent their clients’ cases before the court.A division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice A S Dave filed a PIL on its own in response to an order passed by Justice Bela Trivedi last month, in which the court had imposed fine of Rs 10,000 on a lawyer for incongruous arguments by disregarding facts of the case as well as laws applicable to the case. The division bench has also sought reply from the bar councils over the requirement of inducting the subject of ethics in the legal education programmes for advocates so that the cause of administration of justice may not suffer because of the incompetence of advocates.Justice Trivedi was irked with the irrelevant submissions by the lawyer, and when she asked the advocate to refer to the law, he told the court that he was not required to..
