Summary:

AHMEDABAD: The bodies of a man and a teenage girl were Sunday fished out from the Sabarmati River near Ambedkar Bridge here, a day after they allegedly committed suicide, police said. Kamlesh Parmar (26), a resident of Vijapur in Mehsana district , and Shweta Parmar (16), hailing from Danilimda locality here, had jumped into the river on Saturday, a Sabarmati Riverfront West police station official said. "They were identified by the identity cards recovered from Kamlesh. Prima facie, it appears the couple entered into a suicide pact and jumped into the river after tying each other's hands with a handkerchief," he said.He said the couple took the extreme step apparently as their parents had opposed their marriage, adding that a probe into the incident was underway. No suicide note has been recovered..
