Mercury stays above 41°C in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: For the third consecutive day the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad stayed above the 41-degree mark, at 41.1°C, on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the district was experiencing a high temperature phenomenon on Saturday.While the days are hotter, the temperature refuses to come down at night. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued a ‘yellow’ heat alert. According to EMRI 108 officials, the state saw between 735 and 843 heat-related emergencies a day since March 23. The minimum temperature of 24.8 degrees in the city was also 3.4 degrees higher than normal.Heatwave conditions continued to prevail in parts of Saurashtra and Gujarat ..
