Ahmedabad: Infant abandoned by parents at Civil hospital

An eight-day-old girl child was abandoned by her parents at the Asarwa civil hospital on Saturday. The parents of the baby had brought her to the hospital for treatment after she was had troubles in breathing. M.M Prabhakar, medical superintendent of Civil hospital, said, "The baby was in critical condition when it was brought to us. The baby was underweight and was put under observation in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of newborn in Civil hospital. According to the FIR lodged with Shahibaug police station, on March 28, a couple belonging to Dungarpur area of Rajasthan had brought the baby to Civil hospital for treatment..
