The data of the civic body states that more than 19 lakh litre of water is being distributed by the tankers. Majority of the area in south zone do not have proper pipeline network and hence the civic body is providing water via tankers round the year. Last year more than Rs 2 crore were spent on tankers by the civic body. The data reveals that highest number of tankers are being sent to the south zone where 26 tankers do 190 trips in a day.
