Vikram Nath sworn in as Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court

Justice Vikram Nath was sworn in as the new chief justice of Gujarat High Court on Tuesday. The High Court was without a regular Chief Justice since November last year when the then Chief Justice R Subhash Reddy was elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court. Since Justice Reddy's elevation, Justice AS Dave, being the senior-most judge of the High Court, was serving as the acting Chief Justice. Justice Nath, who is the senior-most judge from Allahabad High Court, was recommended to be appointed as the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court by the Supreme Court collegium on April 8.
