Summary:

A city-based private hospital has successfully carried out the bilateral hip replacement surgery of the tallest man in India—Dharmendra Pratap Singh—who fell short of just two inches to clinch the world record. According to Sharma, a 68 size acetabular cup was used for the right hip and a 70 size cup was used for the left hip, as against the usual size of 52 to 54. Sharma said owing to the poor financial condition of Singh and considering it as a special case, KD Hospital has conducted the surgeries free of cost. Earlier, he had undergone two surgeries in Lucknow for his fracture in left hip before he was treated in Ahmedabad. His right hip surgery was carried out on August 28 and the left hip surgery was carried out on September 6..
