Gujarat: 21 dead, 35 injured as bus turns turtle in Banaskantha

At least 21 people lost their lives and around 35 people sustained injuries after a private travels bus they were travelling in turned turtle in Gujarat's Banaskantha district on Monday. The mishap took place at Trishulia Ghat, a hilly terrain on the Ambaji-Danta Road, when the vehicle skidded amidst heavy rainfall and the driver failed to control the bus. According to superintendent of police (SP) Banskantha Ajit Rajian, the rescue teams had to cut-open the bus to save the passengers. Majority of the 70 passengers who were travelling in the bus were from Anand, while some of them were from other places," Rajian told DNA. The senior cop said all the injured passengers have been shifted to Civil Hospital in Palanpur for the required treatment..
