The water level of the dam reached 137.99 meters on Tuesday, which is only 10 inches away from reaching the maximum level.

This is the second time in the last one year that the water level in the dam has reached peak level.

The water level in the dam reached its peak on September 15 last year, two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s birthday on September 17. According to Sardar Sarovar Nigam Limited (SSNL) sources, the inflow of water to the dam was 55,213 cusecs while outflow was 54,701 cusecs.

The water inflow from the upper part on Tuesday evening was 55,213 cusecs while the outflow was 54,701 and 13,500 power beds were recorded for electricity generation. The SSNL official said that the active storage capacity of the dam has reached about 5,935 million cubic meters. Six units of the 200 MW River Bed Power House are currently in operation.
