That may no longer be the case.

Experts believe India is now riding on the second wave of COVID-19 nationwide.

After keeping at around 29,000 new cases daily earlier this month, things took a turn for the worse when the country recorded nearly 45,000 cases on November 22.

The Gujarat government had imposed a night curfew in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot from Saturday 9:00 pm due to a massive rise in the number of coronavirus cases.

After the Diwali festivities, there has been a significant rise in the number of COVID cases in Gujarat, especially in the financial capital of the state, Ahmedabad.
