24,231 engineering seats vacant after end of mock round

AHMEDABAD: At the end of mock round of engineering admissions by Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), 24,231 out of 59,013 seats have remained vacant. The choice filling indicated that the computer and IT engineering remained student favourites this academic year. A total of 38,510 students had participated in the mock round in which 34,782 seats were allotted. Branch-wise, 4,396 seats out of 7,348 in electrical engineering, 6,342 out of 11,694 in mechanical, 4,488 out of 9,437 in civil, 1,965 out of 4,425 in electronics and communication, 964 out of 1,191 in automobile, 1,477 out of 6,773 in computer and 807 out of 3,845 in IT engineering remained vacant. The final round for admissions in various colleges and institutes will take place soon.According to ACPC officials, there were 42,341 registrations for admissions on the basis of which the merit list was prepared for 41,848 candidates..
