VHP's 'Ram Rajya Yatra' crosses Allahabad

ALLAHABAD: The " Ram Rajya Rath Yatra ", which commenced from Ayodhya and heading to Rameswaram, arrived at the Sangam city , on Thursday. From there the yatra was welcomed on its route to Kaushambi.The yatra was welcomed at Chaufatka and Mundera locality of the city. VHP volunteer Amarnath informed that the main rath, which is a replica of the RSS-affiliate VHP's proposed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, was garlanded amidst shouting of slogan like Jai Shree Ram. The volunteers also performed aarti of the deity and also of the volunteers who are accompanying the rath on its way upto Rameshwaram where the yatra is scheduled to reach on March 25.The yatra was also welcomed at various places of the city as the main function was held at Manmohan crossing of Katra. The yatra would be taking its night halt at Mahdev guest house at Puramuffti of Kushambi district.The yatra is being officially organised by a Maharashtra-based social organisation, and it will see participation from organisations like the VHP and the Muslim Rashtriya Manch , which are affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh - the BJP's ideological mentor..
