MHRD seeks reply from Allahabad uni over 'negative' observations

If the present state of affairs continuous, this university is bound to become unviable and unworkable. University carries the baggage of its history and most of the problems are intractable. MHRD may need to consider suitable action”.The ministry has asked the university administration to take cognizance of the observations.Commenting on the issue, AU’s PRO, Prof Harsh Kumar said, “now when the ministry has asked us for the giving the reply on their observations, we would follow the instructions and submit our point-by-point reply within the stipulated time.” ALLAHABAD: The ministry of human resource and development MHRD ) has sought detailed reply from the Allahabad University on the observations made by a six-member high-powered committee on its work culture.The committee had visited the university campus in November last year for inspection.The committee had pulled up the working culture of AU, finding faults in almost all the facilities, from hostels, teaching, working environment (of both teaching and non-teaching), level of teaching, shortage of teachers, discipline on the campus, political interference and inefficiency of the officials’ governing its administration.The committee, while summarising its observations had said, “The state of affairs in Allahabad University is deplorable in all academic, financial and administrative matters..
