ALLAHABAD: Eighteen-year-old Shivam Chauhan , a city boy studying in class XII, has designed and developed an electric bike (e-bike) which would cost just Rs 13 for a 100-km ride. Its maximum speed is around 60 kms per hour and its battery lasts at least 50,000 kms before needing a recharge. “It took me three months to design the e-bike. Not only this, its mileage remains the same irrespective of the speed.”Shivam said the process of designiong the bike was not easy.
