ALLAHABAD: Cloudy weather, rain along with strong winds added to the winter chill in the city on Thursday.The speed of wind was recorded around 7 KNOTs on Thursday, while rainfall was recorded as 0.2 mm.The maximum and minimum temperature was recorded as 21.9 and 14.1 degrees Celsius respectively on Thursday.Weather experts predicted cloudy weather, rain and thunderstorm on Friday as well. Civil Lines resident, Shubhra, said “The showers will definitely make weather conditions more harsh in the city.” Faculty member of Allahabad University, SS Ojha, said, “The sudden change in weather is because of western disturbances, being witnessed in hilly regions of northern India. The hilly areas have been receiving heavy snowfall since the past one week. The weather will continue to be the same for next 24 hours.”“It’s almost as if the harsh cold weather returned after the Basant Panchmi and the rains have only added to our discomfort,” said Gitima, a housewife..
