ALLAHABAD: Over 1 crore devotees are expected to take a dip in Sangam on the Maghi Poornima snan , during the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad.The Maghi Poornima snan would be observed on February 19, Tuesday.The Mela police reviewed the security arrangements for the snan on Sunday.As most kalpwasis would be observing their last day of kalpwas on the banks of Ganga on Maghi Poornima and would start returning to their native towns after the snan, Mela police also shifted its focus on traffic management especially on pontoon bridges. Additional traffic policemen would be deployed if the need arises.District magistrate (Allahabad) Suhas LY ordered the closure of schools up to class XIIth from Monday to Wednesday, in view of Maghi Poornima snan.SSP (Kumbh) KP Singh said, “We have stepped up security arrangements at ghats as part of the preparations for the Maghi Poornima snan. Besides, mela police would also be diverting some routes inside the Mela campus to avoid snarls,” he added.As family members and relatives arrive mela campus to take kalpwasis back to their homes, police would be diverting and fixing routes so that the pilgrims do not face any kind of inconvenience.
