ALLAHABAD: With Magh Mela commencing from January 2, 2018, the district authorities are busy finalising the blue print with more focus on three basic facilities including sanitation, power supply and streets. Before this, mela authorities have also asked the departments especially PWD, health, power, Allahabad Municipal Corporation as well as police authorities to improve the facilities and set a unique example of organizing mela on the banks of Sangam. This time, mela authorities have decided to offer free Wi-Fi facility to the visitors.Here, the mela advisory committee has sought suggestions and ideas from representatives of saint community, people with good rapport, professors of Allahabad University and representatives of various socialcultural and religious organisations to make Magh Mela " ideal" this year and further decided to put more focus on power supply, construction of toilets, land allocation, widening of roads, and distribution of ration and food materials.District magistrate Suhas L Y said, "We are making sincere efforts to improve the basic facilities for the visitors and pilgrims and after coming over previous years' shortcomings, the magh mela would be held this year in an ideal manner..
