Three in fray for post of Indian Institute of Management Amritsar head

IIM Amritsar had become operational on August 6, 2015.The chairman, however, declined to divulge the names of probable candidates stating that he couldn’t tell unless things were finalized. Though the new rules give autonomy to IIM boards and remove direct interference from government in its functioning, the final call on the person selected for the post would come from the Union ministry. However, the deadline was extended to May 1. Talking to TOI on Monday, IIM Amritsar board chairman Sanjay Gupta said, “names of three persons were shortlisted after the interviews were held on Monday, which would be considered during the BOG’s meeting.”Recently, IIM Kozhikode director Debashis Chatterjee was given the charge of looking after Amritsar institute as its mentor.The Union ministry of human resource development had advertised for the post of IIM Amritsar director for contractual tenure appointment for 5 years giving a deadline of April 16 for of submission of application forms.
