AMRITSAR: The Amritsar (rural) police have registered an FIR against a cop for demanding bribe from a person and threatening him to implicate him in a drug case if he didn’t comply.Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Parampal Singh said the FIR had been lodged against head constable Charan Singh.He said the cop had demanded Rs 40,000 from Sukhwinder Singh , resident of Udoke village, threatening him to implicate in a false NDPS case.Following investigation by the SP (investigation), Sukhwinder’s claims were found to be true following which an FIR under prevention of corruption act was registered against Charan Singh, said the SSP, adding that the cop was presented in court and had been taken on police remand for three days.Meanwhile, he said body of Himanshu Tangri, 28, was found from near a gurdwara in Malhian village..
