Summary:

AMRITSAR:After being forcibly evicted from his house along with wife and three children, the Pakistan government on Thursday terminated the services of its first Sikh traffic police warden Gulab Singh. Since then Gulab and ETPB are at loggerheads over the issue. Gulab claimed that he and his family had been living there since the Partition. In the recent past, in a drive against illegal occupation of its properties the ETPB had evicted Gulab from the langar hall of Gurdwara Dera Chahal with the help of police. According to Pakistani media reports, Gulab was terminated for remaining continuously absent from his job for 116 days, besides his objectionable attitude towards his seniors. The media reports also suggests that Gulab disobeyed the rules and regulations for men in uniform and gave interviews to foreign media houses..
