AMRITSAR: Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday approached Sikh's supreme temporal seat Akal Takht seeking ex-communication of former chief minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal , former deputy chief minister of Punjab and president of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) from Sikh Panth.Sidhu alleged that the two used their influence on the Jathedar of Akal Takht to give pardon to the controversial chief of Dera Sacha Sauda Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is currently in jail.Sidhu in his personal capacity as a Sikh went to Akal Takht secretariat to submit a four page memorandum wherein he had sought ex-communication of father-son duo.Later accompanied by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sunil Jakhar, Sidhu told mediapersons that Badal’s had allegedly used the institution of Akal Takht for their political benefits and struck a deal with Dera chief for his support during 2009 Lok Sabha elections to secure votes for Harsimrat Kaur Badal, wife of Sukhbir Badal..
