AMRITSAR: Sikh seminary Damdami Taksal has appealed to President Ram Nath Kovind to release 20 Sikh lifers ahead of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev in 2019.Taksal chief Harnam Singh Khalsa, who is also president of Sant Saamaj, told media persons on Friday that he had written a letter to Kvoind, seeking to remit the sentence of 20 life convicts under Article 72 of the Constitution on the eve of 550 Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev.The Sikh prisoners were booked for various heinous crimes and given life sentences in different cases..
